People make decisions about a multitude of things on a daily basis. Whether it be what you are going to wear in the morning, what you are going to eat for breakfast, or maybe even how you will spend your free time. All those decisions you make exhaust you. Google it. Every great CEO and important figure makes an effort to make as few decisions as possible on a daily basis. Why? It gives them the energy they need to make the decisions that do matter, the ones that really do end up changing the world.
A lot of the decisions we make though are either irrelevant or are decisions about things we have some domain knowledge about. When we try to make decisions on something we know nothing about? That is a recipe for stress and disaster. We should only make decisions if we are well informed. The only way to get informed properly is to get information from a trusted source, and what better field is there than consultation?
Consultation is something that exists for quite literally any and everything, be it business, technology, or, in our case, bleachers. Yes, we’re talking about those bleachers, the ones you find at football and baseball stadiums, or back in high school where you probably sat if you didn’t want to participate in your gym class. It may seem idiotic at first, but think about it: how much do you truly know about bleachers? You know the name, maybe what they are made of, and what purpose they serve. But do you know how to select the proper bleachers for your own needs? What about the needs of someone else? What makes a good bleacher, and how could something so plain be used to create a memorable environment that people want to visit time and time again? You may be on the fence about whether or not this is something that is actually necessary, but we’re going to go through 5 reasons why any sane person would genuinely consider bleacher consultation.
1. Technical Expertise
I don’t know the first thing about bleachers. Well, in my short research I did learn that there are several types and that the most common is known as an I-Beam, but who really has the time to learn something like that? To me, it doesn’t make much of a difference, but maybe it does to you and you’re just not aware. That is why consultation as a whole exists, to educate us on the things that we didn’t know actually mattered until it is way too late. If you own the building, it might not matter as much, but if you are a contractor? Huge accidents like this could significantly decrease the amount of money you earn from a particular project.
2. Avoiding Mistakes
As I just mentioned, one of the primary reasons that anyone would consider consultation is because they want to avoid mistakes. Imagine for a moment that you know that you need accordion frame style mobile bleachers for use both indoor and outdoor (I’m not sure if that is an actual thing, but let’s just imagine for a moment). While you may know that, I am quite sure that it is unlikely you are aware of all the companies that specialize in that particular type of construction. Even if you do, unless you’ve had a history of ordering from them already, the chances of you picking the best company are slim. You might order from a place where the staff is incompetent, or you simply might place your order at a place that charges you way too much.
3. Saving Money
Speaking of money, consultation actually helps people to save money. Contrary to popular belief, consultation can help you from making costly mistakes that a small bit of knowledge could have easily prevented. Whether or not steel or aluminum should be used might not seem like a question worth a few hundred dollars to answer. However, a few hundred dollars is cheap compared to a bill well into the thousands to completely replace a structure that just isn’t fit for the environment it is being placed in.
4. Reassurance
No one is an idiot. While it is true you might not have enough knowledge to understand a lot of the technical details to make the best-informed decision when it comes down to it, you are probably making one that is good enough. Either you have been in very similar situations before, or you know someone who is able to direct you towards the solution you are looking for. Either way, if you are someone who gets anxious and just needs someone to double check or bounce ideas off of, consultation is probably the best option available to you. However, sometimes “good enough” isn’t good enough, especially when all of the details matter and things have to be perfect at any cost.
5. Making the Best Decision
Experts exist so that no single person has to be an expert in anything. It is a waste of time, and it keeps us from pursuing the things we are passionate about. We are all experts in something, and when someone needs to make a decision on something you have expert level knowledge about, then you are able to provide with them the most accurate knowledge to make the best well-informed decision they possibly can. Of course, you can be wrong, but the chances of that happening are slim to none.
From time to time, we will all need a little bit of expertise. Occasionally we want to avoid mistakes, and we almost always want to save money. Whether you simply need reassurance or for someone to help you make the guaranteed best decision, there are always options. It may sound as idiotic as having someone curate your breakfast in the morning every day, but you never know how much you need something until you try it. So if you ever think you’ll need to build a gym, or anything of the like, consider bleacher consultation.
